Silly me!

Silly me, I totally forgot to post about the Ely Cathedral.  Ely is a town about 30 minutes from where we live.  The town has one of the most incredible cathedrals in the UK, I believe {definitely the most incredible I’ve ever seen and been in!}.  Again, I’ve said it before, but the history and architecture blows. me. away.  The cathedral is enormous.  I wasn’t expecting it to be anywhere near as huge as it is.  The amount of work that has gone into preserving it is phenomenal, and I am so thankful that they have done it.  The ceilings, carvings, attention to detail, anecdotes and commentary, and amount of pure history in the place was just overwhelming.  I took like a thousand pictures, but here are a few, hopefully they will amaze you as much as it amazed me!

Playing catch up…

Alright, alright, I know y’all have missed me.  So here I am to play catch-up.  🙂

I started my new job about two weeks ago, and I am so thankful to be working!  I spent a few days subbing before I started the aid position, and although I enjoyed subbing, I definitely like the predictability and consistency of working in the same classroom every day.  I am working in a special ed classroom with students with emotional/behavioral issues.  I have great coworkers and the students we work with are *usually* very sweet 🙂  Because of the nature of my job, I can’t discuss much, but we only have a few students that we work with, and it is definitely interesting.  I enjoy it for the most part, although there are times of absolute boredom.  Because of the possible behavioral reactions of students, we have to maintain a specific ratio of adults and children.  When there are no issues and another adult is doing the instruction, I basically just sit there…hence the boredom.  However, I do enjoy being back in an elementary school and I have gotten to do quite a bit of instruction and love that I get to help come up with activities and lessons.  I miss having my own classroom and all the responsibility that comes with it, but for now, this is nice [I don’t have work to take home with me and I leave at 3!!]  Hopefully I will be able to start my master’s soon, as this schedule will allow me to spend time doing schoolwork as well.  Anyway, I am beyond happy to be working again!

That being said, I guess I am technically not working at the moment, since I will soon be heading to the states for our wedding!  Eeeek, it’s actually almost here!  B and I are both off until about 20 Nov, and are hoping to make it to Ohio by early next week.  We will be using Space A to get back to the states, so our plans are kinda up in the air right now.  {Space A is for military members, basically a “free” flight on a military aircraft if they have available seats}  We were hoping for a flight today or tomorrow, but there aren’t any available for us.  It’s probably actually a good thing, we need to get laundry, packing, and cleaning done before we head out.  I have a few things to finish up for the wedding once we get back to Ohio, so hopefully we will make it out Monday!  I can’t wait to see friends and family and CELEBRATE!

In other news, we haven’t been doing a whole lot lately….B is on mids {nights} right now, so we are slowly adjusting to that schedule (which we will have to do again once we get back from the states, but oh well.).  We went to the pumpkin patch and corn maize with friends, carved pumpkins, did a little exploring in Ipswich, and have been mostly taking it easy.  Once we get back from the states, we plan on doing some more traveling, so we are looking forward to that!  I also can’t wait to finish getting our house together, and decorate for Christmas {MY MOST FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR EVERRRRRR!}….I think I will finally feel settled once we get back and the wedding is over with, as bad as that sounds.

So, not too exciting over here across the pond, but I figured I would update since I had the day off.  I will see many of you SOON!  Love and hugs!
